To all the people i was once with, who look for money where the heart should lie, “i think you’re better off without him” we’d be fighting ’till the day we die. and i know you’ll think i’m lying, but i only want what’s best for you, could be flying off the island, could be learning what i never knew costs a lot of pride to live without you anymore….woahhhhh Found out that fate lies in the hands of each of us, we have to shape it to the dreams that we trust, Don’t need no reason to be alone, won’t find a heart inside an empty home, cos if you cannot love yourself then who will….then who will So put your money where your mouth is, i left mine above the hallway door, i returned to find it missing, now i’m living on a neighbours floor, So i’m having to explain myself, acting like i’ll never need your help, i'm looking for a purer hell, once i’ve found my own rhythm. costs a lot of pride to live without you anymore….woahhhhh Found out that fate lies in the hands of each of us, we have to shape it to the dreams of our past, Don’t need no reason to be alone, won’t find a heart inside an empty home, cos if you cannot love yourself then who will….then who will cos if you cannot love yourself then who will….then who will

I never thought i’d see your face, the feelings gone without a trace, so dearly, beloved. Although we went our different ways, and left without a warm embrace, so dearly, beloved. All of the time won’t heal, Unless you disappear, to where the blood around your heart is all you have. All of the time won’t heal, Unless you disappear, And don’t look back And don’t look back And don’t look back Paint a picture, work of art, try to mend your broken heart, so dearly beloved. Sensing trouble ahead, i miss you, drifting oceans apart, so dearly’ beloved. We’re told that everything will happen for a reason, and those reasons they come running back to you. Dearly Beloved is the martyr we believe in, Across the border where all lovers turn to fools.

Finer Things 05:40
Made my way out to meet you, had tears in your eyes, never thought i was worthy, of making you cry. oh what a mess, we’ve found ourselves in again. In a moment of weakness, I forgot you were cold, too busy lining your pockets, with company gold. oh what a mess, i’ve found myself in again. It’s ok, to be so wrong, though I knew it all along, You like the finer things in life that I ignore. It’s ok, to be so cruel, do whatever you have to do, I hate the finer things in life you’re living for. You’ve always made it look easy, it’s how you were raised. with a funeral plan, instead of acting your age oh what a mess, we’ve found ourselves in again. Made me hide from your family, with a shake of your head, I put my arms on the table, whenever we ate, oh what a mess, we’ve found ourselves in again. It’s ok, to be so wrong, though I knew it all along, You like the finer things in life that I ignore. It’s ok, to be so cruel, do whatever you have to do, I hate the finer things in life you’re living for. You’re living for x2 You like the finer things in life that I ignore. It’s ok, to be so cruel, it won’t stop me falling in love with you, You are the only thing in life worth living for. Worth living for.

Dulcimer 04:14
I said please, i’m reeling for the second time in a week, pray for me, i’ve gotten so used to feeling incomplete. Been living like a blind man, who’s looking for a diamond I no longer lead the way, i’m a housefly that used to be a lion now, say you don’t believe it. Try to lead yourself from the fixation, of finding the time, to get it right. Try to lead yourself from the fixation, of finding the time, to see the light, I’ve been down on my own for too long now, realising what I want from life, Try to lead yourself away from the fixation, of finding the time, to get it right Comfort me. on a downward spiral that i have been i find relief, in closing old doors with a skeleton key Been living like a blind man, who’s looking for a diamond I no longer lead the way, i’m a housefly that used to be a lion now, say you don’t believe it

about

‘Dearly Beloved: Part One’ is the latest demonstration of HOLY MATRIMONY’s meticulous attention to detail: written, recorded, produced and released in-house by the band themselves; a true ‘indie release’ that embraces a flair for lush, unapologetic pop music that draws from a catalogue of disparate influences from across the pop spectrum.

Recorded entirely in a Salford flat in the Autumn and Winter months of 2016, ‘Dearly Beloved: Part One’ comprises four tracks that collectively soar above their sunless origins. They burst into life with confident vocals and glossy production; layered in broad strokes and built entirely upon slick electronic rhythms.

"Enormous soundscapes, taking you on a magic carpet ride before dropping you, sated, just short of where you expect. Just brilliant."
10 / 10 - Louder Than War Magazine (tinyurl.com/mvfz8nq)

"Sweeping synths, inappropriately huge choruses and deep, engaging vocals projecting an image of the love child of Dave Gahan and Morrissey”.
4.5/5 - Fringe Culture (tinyurl.com/hcjogf8)

“Dearly Beloved: Part One’ seems to be intended as an initial showcase of what Holy Matrimony are all about, and in that sense it is a roaring success. Full of delicious hooks, festival-devouring anthems and subtle, whip-smart quirks, this is an EP that is as perfect an introduction to any band as I have ever heard, setting out their stall with an imperious sense of majesty and confidence.”
7.5/10 - Reyt Good Music (tinyurl.com/lwxqgd3)

"The band’s ability to create four genuinely great tracks that build and keep getting better, ending in a blissfully electronic conclusion has to stand as the EP’s finest achievement" 5/5 - The Modern Critic (tinyurl.com/kvvlnpo)
